Specs: TB6612 MOSFET drivers 1.2 A per bridge, 3 A peak for about 20 ms, thermal shutdown, internal kickback diodes; motor voltage 4.5-13.5V DC; dedicated PWM driver over I2C - only SDA/SCL plus GND/5V needed; I2C addresses 0x60-0x80 selectable; up to 32 shields stackable (64 steppers / 128 DC motors claimed); 8-bit speed selection per DC motor; big terminal blocks for 18-26 AWG; Arduino reset button on top; polarity-protected 2-pin terminal block/jumper for separate logic/motor supply; assembled size 70 x 55 x 10 mm.
Compatibility: Tested compatible with Arduino Uno, Leonardo, ADK/Mega R3, Due, Diecimila and Duemilanove; Mega/ADK R2 and earlier need 2 wire jumpers. As of 2024-03-07 Adafruit notes A4/A5 disconnected so only SDA/SCL used, default logic IOref rather than 5V for 3.3V Arduino-shaped boards. NO Raspberry Pi or Pico claim verified - do not add one.
Power: Motor 4.5-13.5V DC; logic via IOref / 5V per board (see compatibility).
Package contents: Assembled and tested shield, terminal block, plain header, jumper. Some soldering required for headers. Stacking headers NOT included. Arduino and motors NOT included. Terminal block may be blue or black.
Notes: Naming flag - Adafruit current page says v3 Kit vs older v2/v2.3 references; use ID 1438. No verified hero image - created without an image.
